“Government did not earn your money, they took it and they need to respect that.”
My wife of 24 years, Wendy and I, are life long residents of Washington County and we have raised our 4 children here. I believe Washington County to be a great place to live, work, and play.
My faith has always been important to me and I currently work for my church fulfilling many different roles in ministry. Before this, I spent 25 years as an entrepreneur building 3 vastly different, yet successful, businesses. Each of these were unique in their daily operations.
I believe anyone serving in a leadership role should hold themselves to a high standard of person conduct. I think honesty, integrity, and humility are important qualities of a good leader. A good leader should always be trying to encourage and promote those they are leading and put their interests before their own.
As a people’s person I have always had a deep desire to help people, from the time I was a teenager, serving as a Youth Red Cross Volunteer, to my current community service with agencies like Meals on Wheels and Mt Hope Prison Ministry.
Some people have asked me why I decided to run for public office. My answer is simple, I was tired of sitting back complaining about the direction of our city, county, state, and country. I was tired of watching local politicians who’s actions were not what we should expect from someone serving in public office. I decided if you want change you have to do something about it other than talk about it. Lastly, I had a strong desire to help make the community I live in a better place for everyone.
Finally, the skills I learned as an entrepreneur as well as my life’s experiences will benefit the people of Washington County in making wise, common sense, conservative decisions as we continue to grow our county.
